As an organization admin, you can enable free text modifiers for your menu items. Free text modifiers will allow customers to add text/special instructions on item level.
Enable free-text modifier to a menu item
Log in to your Moduurn Back Office (MBO) www.admin.moduurn.com as an admin user.
STEP 1: Click on Menus and then on Edit on the menu.
STEP 2: Click on a Category and then on the Edit button on the item you would like to add the free text modifiers to.
STEP 3: On the item page, scroll down to find Free-Text Modifiers and click on the + button.
STEP 4: Enter the following details;
Modifier name - this could be words like suggestions, free toppings, notes and so on.
Action Caption - this could be ‘Choose your' or 'Add’.
Is this a forced modifier - enabled this if you wish to make this a required modifier. If you wish to keep it optional, please do not select this.
External ID - type in the external ID if there is a POS integration.
Is this a compound
Portions - select the portions you want the modifier applied to.
STEP 5: Click on Save and you will see the modifier listed. Scroll down and click on Save again on the item page.
Order with an item that has a free text modifier will look as shown below.
Following is how the customer will view and use this free-text modifier
On the app, the user chooses an item to add to the cart. If the item is configured with a free-text modifier, it will be displayed within the list of modifiers as shown below.
The user can type in the free text in the space. It could be instructions specific to this item. Once the notes are typed in and the user clicks on Add To Order and checkout. Below is how the Review & Pay page looks.
